This meeting’s purpose was to launch the candidacy of the sanctuary in order to declare it World’s Heritage.

5. Production activities

CMMAS has been converted into a space where different electronic formats can be produced;
(Compact discs, radio programmes, audio and video DVD’s, web-pages, mp3, etc.)
The objective is to distribute widely and efficiently the works that are been sponsored by the Centre. This is how CMMAS explores the different format characteristics; looking for the ideal way of promoting and spreading the work of those artists that join the Centre. (Works created by students or composers at CMMAS), and collaborating with the production of external projects, no matter the language or musical style.

These are the compact discs available at CMMAS:

Project “RedASLA Vol.2” by Red de Arte Sonoro Latino Americano, an international organization. CMMAS is responsible of the music and materials archive.
This disc features works by composers from different countries in the region with innovative and contrasting proposals on the implementation of musical technology.

“Prácticas de Vuelo 2007” a disc production showing the results of the works by CMMAS and the Michoacan Culture Secretariat class of 2007 scholarship holders.

“BBlind Cciego” a disc produced by CMMAS and fully financed by the Centro de Investigación y Estudios Musicales (Centre for Investigation and Music Studies; CIEM by its initials in Spanish) with electro-acoustic works by Rodrigo Sigal, Ph.D.

CMMAS has created since its inception, international contact and reputation offering unique opportunities that have significantly contributed to the strengthening of music students at Michoacan and other states countrywide.

It offers unique opportunities to acquire invaluable knowledge and experience. Through contact with artists and faculty, local and foreign; they are lead to learn about the diversity of art proposals and to expand their cultural horizon beyond the traditional music education.

CMMAS is an institution unique in the country that aims to promote cultural diversity in the artistic, academic, research and production areas with the participation of national artists and faculty from America, Africa, Asia and Europe.
Mexico is presently going through a cultural activity that celebrates innovation and creativity in its people. In CMMAS we are proud of the role we have in promoting their growth.
