"Concierto compartido del flautista Roberto Fabbriciani y del compositor Juan Campoverde. Obras de Bruno Maderna, Nicola Sani, Javier Torres Maldonado, Colombo Taccani. Se estrenará la obra “Lux” de Juan Campoverde, obra creada especialmente para esta colaboración.

Roberto Fabbriciani nació en Arezzo, Italia en 1949. Intérprete original y artista innovador. El inventó, gracias a su acercamiento audaz, una técnica de flauta completamente nueva que multiplica las posibilidades sonoras del instrumento. Ha colaborado con algunos de los más grandes compositores de nuestro tiempo: Luciano Berio, Pierre Boulez, Sylvano Bussotti, John Cage, Elliott Carter, Nicolò Castiglioni, Aldo Clementi, Dallapiccola, Luis de Pablo, Franco Donatoni, Jindrich Feld, Brian Ferneyhough, Jean Françaix, Giorgio Gaslini, Genzmer Harald, Toshio Hosokawa, Klaus Huber, György Kurtág, Ernest Krenek, György Ligeti, Bruno Maderna, Oliver Messiaen, Ennio Morricone, Luigi Nono, Goffredo Petrassi, Henri Pousseur, Wolfgang Rihm, Jean-Claude Risset, Nicola Sani, Schnebel Dieter, Salvatore Sciarrino, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Toru Takemitsu, Isang Yun, le han dedicado obras importantes. Con Luigi Nono trabajó extensamente en el estudio experimental de los SWF en Freiburg, abriendo caminos nuevos e inusuales por la música. Ha actuado como solista con directores Claudio Abbado, Luciano Berio, Ernest Bour, Riccardo Chailly, Peter Eötvös, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Michael Gielen, Cristóbal Halffter, Djansug Kachidse, Bernhard Klee, Vladimir Jurowsky, Bruno Maderna, Riccardo Muti, Zoltan Pesko, Josep Pons, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Arturo Tamayo, Lothar Zagrosek y con orquestas como la Orquesta de La Scala, la Orquesta dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia , la Orquesta de la RAI, London Sinfonietta, LSO, RTL de Luxemburgo, Bruselas BRTN, la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Monnaie, Colonia WDR, SWF Baden-Baden, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester de Berlín, Bayerischer Rundfunk, Filarmónica de Munich. Ha realizado conciertos en prestigiosos teatros e instituciones musicales: Scala, Orquesta Filarmónica de Berlín, Royal Festival Hall de Londres, Suntory Hall de Tokio, Tchaikovsky de Moscú Hall y Carnegie Hall de Nueva York y ha participado en festivales como la Bienal de Venecia, de mayo Musicale Fiorentino, Ravenna, Londres, Edimburgo, París, Bruselas, Granada, Lucerna, Varsovia, Salzburgo, Viena, Lockenhaus, Donaueschingen, Colonia, Munich, Berlín, San Petersburgo, Tokio, Cervantino. Grabó varios discos y ha dado clases magistrales en la Universidad Mozarteum en Salzburgo.

Juan Campoverde Q. is an Ecuadorian-American composer whose compositional voice and ingenuity enriches the panorama of contemporary music by confronting the prevailing notions generated by Latin American musical typecasts.
Internationally recognized ensembles such as L’Ensemble Intercontemporain (France), Ensemble SurPlus (Germany), New Music Concerts Ensemble (Toronto), Ensemble Aventure (Germany), Ensamble Quito 6 (Ecuador), NOISE (US), ICE (US), UNTREF Quartet (Argentina), and Fonema Consort (US) have performed his music. His works were premiered twice at ISCM World Music Days, and recently performed by the National Symphonic Orchestra of Ecuador.
Courses in contemporary composition and 20th and 21th century music theory/analysis are Campoverde Q.'s areas of teaching interest and expertise. He was most recently a faculty member at DePaul University, and has been an invited lecturer at Northwestern University (IL), University of California-San Diego, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Center for Music and Sonic Arts in Morelia, Mexico, and Casa de la Música in Quito, Ecuador.
Interdisciplinary studies including music, literature, and philosophy as an undergraduate student in Ecuador are reflected in Campoverde Q's compositional perspective. He pursued his graduate education through a Fulbright Scholarship at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati where he earned his MM in Music Composition. He subsequently earned his PhD in Music Composition at the University of California - San Diego, with Roger Reynolds as his mentor.
Campoverde Q. currently lives outside Chicago in Evanston, Illinois, and divides his artisic and teaching activities between North and South America.
